Privacy and cookies

The short version

• No accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter. We do not know who you are.
• We set one cookie, age_ok. It remembers for 30 days that you said you are an adult.
• Your favorites, theme, "Hide AI videos" and "Hide watched" settings, clicked videos and video-player choices stay in your own browser. They are not stored on our server.
• Our server counts pages, clicks, plays, searches, how many times the "Adults only" notice is passed and how often a visitor comes straight back from a video, as daily totals, not tied to any person, device or IP address.
• Your IP address is never written to our databases.
• If your connection is from the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada or Turkey, or we cannot work out where it is from, or your browser does not let this site store your choice, our ads and analytics load only if you choose "Allow". Otherwise we do not ask first: they load once you have confirmed you are an adult, unless you have refused them. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as a refusal unless you choose Allow yourself. You can refuse at any time with Cookie choices in the footer. Where the site is blocked or shown without images, they do not load at all and we do not ask.
• Some videos can play here in the hosting site's own player. It loads only when you press Play, or right away for a site where you ticked that box. It can set that site's and its advertisers' cookies, not ours.

What we collect and what we do not

BestTransPorn is a directory. It hosts no videos and stores no images. You can use all of it without telling us anything about yourself. We never ask for your name, a password or payment details, and we keep no record of what any one person watched.

We do hold:

• The daily totals described below.
• Reports sent through the report form: which video (or the title or address you typed), the reason, your note, your email address if you gave one, and the time. A report does not store your IP address.
• Emails you send us.

The one cookie we set and what is kept in your browser

We set one cookie. Everything else below is kept in your browser's own storage and is not sent to us, with one exception: when you open the Favorites page, your browser sends the numbers of your saved videos to our server so that videos removed since can be dropped from the list and the rest can open in the pop-up player. We do not store them.

The owner's admin login uses a session cookie, and signing in also gives the owner's own browser a cookie that keeps the owner's visits out of the counts; visitors never get either. To remove everything above, clear this site's data in your browser settings. Cookies set by a video site's player belong to that site: clear them under that site's name.

What is counted on our server

These are daily totals with no visitor identifier:

• Pages served, by type of page.
• Clicks and plays on each video, clicks to each destination site, and plays in each video site's player.
• For each destination site, the type of our page the clicks to it were made from, and how many times a visitor came back to our page within 15 seconds of opening one of its videos on that site. For that, when you come back so soon, your browser tells our server which video it was.
• How many times the "Adults only" notice was passed. When you press "I am 18 or older", your browser tells our server that the notice was passed.
• Visits from each referring site, by site name only, and visits whose address carries a short tag, such as ?via=bsky, which we add to links we place ourselves.
• Search phrases: the words, how many times they were searched, and when last.

Bots, the owner's own visits and visits that arrive with a known spam referrer are not counted. Repeated clicks on the same video from one internet address count once an hour. Video clicks and plays help order the Trending list. Please do not type personal details into the search box.

IP addresses

Your browser sends your IP address with every request, as it does to any website. We use it for these things:

• To stop one visitor's repeated click, repeated play, repeated return from a video, repeated pass of the age notice, repeated search or repeated report from being counted twice. For this we keep a salted one-way fingerprint of your IP address and the item. It is deleted within two hours while the site is in use, and at the latest at the next twice-daily update. The secret used to make fingerprints changes every day, so fingerprints from different days cannot be matched to each other.
• To apply the age rules for your region, and to decide whether to ask you before ads and analytics load. If the site runs behind Cloudflare, we read the country and region it reports; otherwise we look them up in a location database on our own server. Your address is not sent anywhere for this, and the result is not stored.
• To check a visitor that calls itself a search-engine crawler. We look the address up in public DNS to confirm it belongs to that search engine, and keep a salted one-way fingerprint of the address with the answer for up to two days.
• To limit how many reports, and how many immediate take-downs, one connection can make in a day, and how many sign-in attempts the admin page accepts. For this we keep a salted one-way fingerprint of the address with a count, and delete it after two days.

The IP address itself is never written to our databases. Our hosting company keeps ordinary web server logs under its own policy.

Who else sees you when you use the site

• Image servers. Thumbnails load straight from the servers of the sites that host the videos, so those servers see your IP address. We send no referrer with image requests.
• The site you click through to. It sees our site's address as the referrer, not the page you were on. If we have an affiliate deal with it, the link may carry our partner code, or the site may count the visit by our site's address alone. From then on, its own privacy policy applies.
• A video site's player, when you load it. Videos from Pornhub and XVideos can play in a pop-up on our page, in that site's own player. The player is not requested from the video site until you press Play in the pop-up, or open a video from a site where you ticked the box to load its player right away (the picture in the pop-up is the thumbnail the card already showed). From then on the player comes straight from that site, as it does on any website that embeds it. That site sees your IP address, our site's address (not the page you were on) and which video you play; it can set and read its own cookies; and it shows its own ads. The advertising companies that site uses can see the same and set their own cookies. If you are signed in to that site in this browser, it can connect the video to your account there. All of this is under that site's privacy policy, not ours; the 2257 page lists the sites. Closing the pop-up removes the player. To be asked again each time, untick the box under the player, or press "Ask me again" in Cookie choices. When you press Play, or the player loads by itself, your browser tells our server which video it was, so the play can be counted in the daily totals and a video that has been taken down is not loaded; that request carries no cookie.
• Live cams, if switched on. Your browser asks the cam network for the list of rooms that are live, and each room's picture loads from the cam network's own servers, so the cam network sees your IP address; it uses it to leave out performers who have blocked your region. We send no cookies and no referrer with those requests. Your browser then sends the room names and titles to us, only to check them against our content rules; we do not store them. (With Cam4 our server fetches the list instead, and the pictures still load from Cam4's servers.)
• Our own ads and analytics. The ad network we use today is ExoClick. When these load, and whether you are asked first, is set out under "Your cookie choice and how to change it" below. Once loaded, they can set cookies, see your IP address and see which page you are on, under their own policies. Ads inside a video site's player are that site's, not ours, and come with the player (see above).

Everything else, including fonts and scripts, comes from our own server.

Your cookie choice and how to change it

Where the site is not available or is shown without images (see "Age and region rules" below), no ad or analytics script of ours loads at all, and we do not ask.

Everywhere else, whether we ask you first depends on where your connection is from. We work that out from your IP address, as described under "IP addresses" above.

If your connection is from the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, Canada or Turkey, or we cannot work out where it is from: before any ad or analytics script of ours loads, you are asked to choose Allow or Refuse. Refusing is one click, the button is the same size as Allow, and the site works the same either way.

Anywhere else: we do not ask first. Ad and analytics scripts of ours load once you have confirmed you are an adult, unless you have chosen Refuse. To refuse, open Cookie choices in the footer of any page and press Refuse. You can do that at any time, the scripts stop at once, and the site works the same either way. Your choice is kept in your browser (the "consent" entry in the table above): it covers that browser only, and it is forgotten if you clear this site's data or close a private window. After that the scripts load again until you refuse again.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Refuse, wherever you are: we do not ask, and no ad or analytics script of ours loads unless you choose Allow yourself in Cookie choices.

If your browser does not let this site store your choice, we cannot remember a Refuse. Unless it sends that signal, we ask on every page instead, and no ad or analytics script of ours loads until you choose Allow.

To change your choice, use Cookie choices in the footer. Cookies an ad network already set stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them. This choice covers our ads and analytics only. A video site's player is separate: it loads when you choose to load it in the pop-up, whatever you chose here, and brings that site's own ads and advertising cookies with it.

Age and region rules

BestTransPorn is for adults only. Every visitor sees an "Adults only" notice before anything else. Googlebot, Google's search crawler, once its address has been confirmed as described under "IP addresses" above, is sent the same pages without that notice so that it can read them.

Some places require adult sites to verify age with more than a click. At the time of writing these include the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Brazil and a number of US states. There the site does not rely on the notice. Depending on the setting for that region, the site is either not available there, or shown without any images or video players.

The site carries the RTA (Restricted To Adults) label so parental-control software can block it.

How long we keep things

• IP fingerprints for counting: up to two hours while the site is in use, and never past the next twice-daily update.
• Crawler-check and report-limit fingerprints: up to two days.
• Daily totals (pages, clicks, plays, returns from a video, passes of the age notice, referring sites and tagged links): 400 days.
• Search phrases: deleted once nobody has searched for them for 180 days.
• Reports: two years, then deleted automatically.
• The list of removed videos: for as long as the site runs, so a feed cannot bring them back. A video comes off the list only if a review finds it was removed by mistake.
• Emails: until we no longer need them to answer you or record a removal.

Your rights and how to use them

Depending on where you live, Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, or the EU or UK GDPR gives you the right to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, withdraw your consent (for ads, use Cookie choices; for a video site's player, untick the box under the player or use "Ask me again" in Cookie choices), and complain to a regulator.

Because we do not tie data to people, all we can usually find is a report you sent or an email you wrote. Email hello@besttransporn.com with the address you used and roughly when. We reply within 30 days. Our Privacy Officer is the person who runs BestTransPorn; we will tell you their name if you ask.

You can complain to:

• Canada: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
• Quebec: the Commission d'accès à l'information.
• European Union: your country's data protection authority, listed by the European Data Protection Board.
• United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner's Office.

International transfers

BestTransPorn is run from Ontario, Canada. It is hosted by Hostinger, and our server, with the data on this page, is in the United States (Boston), not in Canada. The operator reads it from Canada. When ads load, ad networks may handle data in other countries. If you play a video in a video site's player, that site and its advertisers handle your data wherever they operate.

Children

BestTransPorn is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a young person has sent us a report or an email, write to hello@besttransporn.com and we will delete it. Parents can block the site: see parental controls.

Changes to this page

When we change what the site collects or who sees it, we update this page and the date at the top.
